"The learners really enjoyed the experience and found all the activities stimulating."

We've just run the Challenge with a group of students on an Employability & Skills course with Direct Training in Huddersfield. We developed a series of library-based activities to help students improve their literacy and communication levels ready for work while using library resources.

The students visited Huddersfield Library every Wednesday for six weeks. They all joined the library and signed up for the Six Book Challenge. They took part in a range of activities including an online information quiz in the reference library, a reading group session, a book-making craft activity and viewing historical documents in the local history library.

Ten students finished the Challenge and each was presented with a certificate and book. Feedback from Direct Training has been very positive and another group will start the Challenge in March.
