Challenge shortlisted for library award
We are delighted to report that the Six Book Challenge is one of three finalists for this year's Libraries Change Lives Award run by CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals).
We were able to feature several library services in our entry, in particular Staffordshire, West Sussex, Warrington, Sheffield, Renfrewshire and the Western Education and Library Board in Northern Ireland, all of whom provided strong case studies about how they have been running the Challenge and the impact it's had on participants. Many thanks to all involved!
The winner will be announced by Poet Laureate and Chair of the Museums Libraries and Archives Council, Andrew Motion on 15 July at Umbrella 2009, CILIP's flagship event for the library sector to be held at the DeHavilland Campus of the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
